Joy of the Lord is your strength. ~ Nehemiah 8:10
We daily are fighting a battle. This battle is between good and evil, poverty and prosperity, peace and war, light and darkness. These battles although present to us with a human faces, we are not to fight our sisters or brothers or even that person who betrayed us. No this battle is and will always be against the citizens of the Kingdom of darkness. Not between flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12).
When Christ died on the cross for our sins, he redeemed us not only back to the Kingdom of light but he redeemed us to the winning side of victory. He also gave us weapons to use when we feel overwhelmed, weary in well doing, and even upset by our circumstances. He gave us his Joy.
The Joy of the Lord is more powerful than an atomic bomb. The definition of Joy is the feeling of great pleasure and happiness. The Hebrew word for joy is “hedwa” which means delight. The enemy of our soul knows that that when we are filled with joy (great pleasure and happiness that produces delight from God) we can move mountains. So knowing this he sends his joy assassins to kill, steal and destroy our joy power, by bringing devastation, fights, and oppression.
So how to keep your joy power and to activate its demolition effect.
Laugh Out Loud: Laughter helps the pituitary gland release its own pain-suppressing opiates. In other words it gets you on a natural high. Watch a funny movie hang with hilarious friends or think about something that brings you to a tear producing laughter. Remember the enemy wants you to be alone having a pity party, so turn the tide and have a laughing party.
Turn The Other Cheek: Jesus introduced the "turn the other cheek" concept in the gospel when assaulted by another. The turning the other cheek was not merely an instruction in order for us to be hit again on the other side of our face, it was for us to have a new view of the situation. Practice now, look in one direction then turn your head to look in another direction the view should have changed. A way to activate your joy power is to look at the situation with the eyes of heaven. Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Mind Your Business: Your Joy can bring devastation to the enemy when you focus your thoughts, energy, and time on your purpose. When you are walking in your passion, joy is the inevitable. Look for your pleasure spot and work it.
