How To Build A Mental Health Strategy Plan For 2018
We are freshly into the new Year, which God revealed to me was the year of our Breakthrough to Break too. This includes breaking through things that have been holding us back and hindering us psychologically and emotionally.
Many of us finished 2017 strong and are pushing into this new year with goals and ambitions by creating a vision plan or statement that includes financial, relational, career, and even spiritual goals.
My hope is to open up a conversation to include adding mental health goals to your vision plan. Because just like we need physical health, financial health and spiritual health to be successful in life, it is essential to have a mental health plan to live happy, healthy, wealthy and whole.
Mental health is defined as "a state of a person’s psychological and emotional well-being. The way in which an individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community".
If you can identify an individual who is a world changers and history maker you can believe that they have an active individualized mental health program that they engage in to be successful in what they do.
When we neglect our mental health we can adopt mental illness. Mental illness refers to a wide range of mental health conditions — disorders that affect your mood, thinking and behavior. Examples of mental illness include depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, eating disorders and addictive behaviors.
Many are scared of the word mental illness or believe it is the work of satan, witchcraft and other form of darkness, especially the church...we have been taught that individuals who suffer from mental illnesses are either demon possessed, deep in sin or a product of a family curse. I'm not here to dispel those believes I only want to bring enlightenment to the power we have over satan or any mental illness no matter what the reason may be for it's presence in our life or someone we love and knows life.
In the bible there were many incidents were mental illnesses was present. Men and women of God suffered from depression, anxiety, bipolar and insanity.
Mental Health Strategy Plan
But there is a way out. Isaiah 54:17 tells me that no weapon formed against you can prosper. This includes psychological or emotional weapons in the form of mental illness. We have the power through the spirit and word of God to renew our mind daily in order to maintain a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7, Romans 12:1-2)
