The Journey of Preparation to Singleness, Marriage & Intimacy With God

Today was a memorable and life changing day for me, full of great information and beautiful people. I attended an event with big names such as bestselling author, world's #1 sales trainer, renowned speaker, international social media influencer, real estate mogul and 10X your life guru, Grant Cardone. And Tony Robbins, who is an author, philanthropist, life coach and business and life strategist. Robbins is known for his infomercials, seminars, and self-help books including Unlimited Power and Awaken the Giant Within.

I have so many take always, however what was spoken from both of these great educators was to be present in the moment. While many were scurrying around to take a selfie with them, they encouraged the audience to be present in the moment and to be mindful of the right now.

Today’s Lesson: Find the joy in being mindful, and enjoy the richness of a moment.

It is easy to focus on the past or on our future. But what appears to be more challenging is to be present in the right now moments. To be mindful means to be in a mental state that is achieved by focusing one's awareness of the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations.

On the journey to singleness, marriage and intimacy with God, we can sometimes get frustrated or discouraged when we set our minds on the fact that what we aspire to be appears far from our present circumstances. And what we have been through is hard to let go of.

What God is advising us to do is to yes have goals and a vision for your future, and yes don't forget where you’ve come from. However, not at the expense of missing out on your right now.

How to build the practice of mindfulness

  1. Get your favorite candy bar or a piece of chocolate

  2. Close your eyes and just hold the chocolate in your hand (preferably still in the rapper)

  3. Focus on just touching the chocolate for one minute

  4. Next, bring the chocolate to your ear and focus on just the sound of the chocolate, as you fondle the chocolate for one minute

  5. Next, open the chocolate wrapper and take a deep breaths as you focus only on the smell of the candy for one minute

  6. Lastly, take a small bite of the chocolate and focus just on the taste, as it rolls over your taste buds. Do this for one minute

  7. Eat the remainder of your candy if you still have any left.

As you practice this exercise it will enable you to focus on one aspect of your senses, giving you the ability to drown out or silence others. This method can then be transposed to others aspects of mindfulness in your life. Be 100% present in your daily moments. When your washing your hands, focus on just the washing of your hands. When you are talking with someone, focus just on that one. When you are sipping on your morning coffee or tea, experience every sensation of that moment.

And when you practice mindfulness daily you will not stress over past events, or future uncertainties. In fact you will be present in the beautiful moments that God is giving at every right now moment. So until tomorrow, actively be here, actively be now, and actively be in your beautiful moments!

With Beautiful Love
