The Journey of Preparation to Singleness, Marriage & Intimacy With God
Day 44: PUSH
There are sure to be days when you just don't feel like it. You don't feel like praying, you don't feel like reading your word, you don't feel like cleaning, you don't feel like cooking, you don't feel like going out, you don't feel like staying in, you just don't feel like doing anything.
When I’m feeling overwhelmed, or if I have had a stressful day, I run to Netflix and watching a movie that will make me laugh. One that will help me not think about life.
The problem with this strategy is that it can become a routine of escapism that handicaps the next that is supposed to occur.
Today’s Lesson: Don't run from your problems, push till you make it to the other side.
Have you ever wanted something so bad that it hurts? Or have you hurt so bad that you run? Sometimes challenges are set up to see how bad you want it.
In this journey of singleness, marriage and intimacy with God. You will be met with resistance. Resistance can come in the form of uncertainty, fear, rejection. Anything that attempts to deter you from a deeper level in these relationships are considered resistance.
In order to move past the resistance is to push. To push means to do adopt the do it anyway syndrome. When you don't feel like doing something, do it anyway.
You don't feel like praying, pray anyway. You don't feel like reading your word, read it anyway. You don't feel like cleaning, clean anyway. You don't feel like cooking, cook anyway. You don't feel like going out, go out anyway. You don't feel like staying in, stay in anyway.
When you push past the resistance not to do, you tap into a power within that ignites you to flourish in everything you want to do, including being successful in your journey into your singleness, marriage and intimacy with God.
Until tomorrow, resist the urge not to do, and push!
