Day 52: ATTRACTING THE MAN OR WOMAN OF YOUR DREAMS

The Journey of Preparation to Singleness, Marriage & Intimacy With God

Day 52: ATTRACTING THE MAN OR WOMAN OF YOUR DREAMS

Some of you have been praying for a long time for the man or woman of your dreams. However you have been presented with no one or been in nightmarish relationships.

So today we are going to spend time discussing the importance of knowing what you want, in order to make sure you get the man or woman of your dreams.

The best method to do this is by creating a vision statement. A vision statement is a declaration of your objectives, that are intended to guide your decision-making.

You maybe saying. I’m already married. It’s never too late to create a vision statement for anything that pertains to your life. It just may evolve to something that is realistic to you stage of life. For example if you are already married to a dark skinned man, you can’t write the vision that you want your husband to be fair skinned. It’s not about trading a person in for someone else. It’s about writing a vision to create the life in your marriage that you desire.

Today’s Lesson: You must know what you want in a relationship, in order to know what you don't want in a relationship.

Knowing what you want

“The only thing worse than being blind is having sight with no vision”. This quote by Helen Keller, who was blind, death and mute knew the power of having a vision of what you want to see.

In the journey of singleness, marriage and intimacy with God you have the power to write your story, but you must know what you want written in that story.

What do you want to see in your forever kind of  love partner? What do you want in a relationship? What kind of husband do you want? What kind of wife do you want? Are they compassionate? Are they funny? How do they dress? Handsome, Athletic? Beautiful, quiet? Are they adventurous, or homebodies? Do you want him to have a nice voice to sing? Does she cook like your granny? Do you travel often? Are they business minded? Do they worship God?

If you have no clear picture of what you want anyone can show up …. Creating the good the bad and the ugly.

Many will argue that creating a list of your wants for a relationship is superficial, and setting the bar to high. Others will say that having a list of qualities and expectations in your relationship is a sure sign that you will be doomed to be alone an unmarried forever.

But I must argue against these viewpoints. God told me in Habakkuk 2:2  to “write the vision and make it plain”. In other words I have the liberty to write down the vision of what I want, and that I am to be very specific. This includes my relationship with my purpose partner.

Knowing what you want in a relationship could decrease the odds of you experiencing grief and heartbreak and increase the odds of you having successful synergistic relationships. Because remember when you know what you want, you also know what you don't want.

So until tomorrow, write your vision and make it plain!

With Beautiful Love
