The Journey of Preparation to Singleness, Marriage & Intimacy With God

Eyes haven’t seen, ears haven't heard what God is about to do in your life. God’s about to blow your mind!

Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil - Ephesians 5:15-16.

Today’s Lesson: Prepare in the chronos time knowing that the kairos time is on the way

I’m so excited about today’s lesson. God dropped this one on me last night during my study time. The topic of my study was how to occupy the time. So I was studying time. Because in our zeal to be good stewards of our time that has been given, we can miss the wisdom of God. We end up running fast and headlong down a path that we think is correct, only we just get further away from where we should be. Therefore God gave me two words chronos and kairos.

Chronos refers to minutes and seconds. It refers to time as a measurable resource, or our clock time.

Kairos is the word used for time in Ephesians 5:16. It means an appointed time, an opportune moment, or a due season.

Change from the Chronos to the Kairos mindset

We have been trained since birth to think of our time in a chronos mindset. We think of having 24 hours in a day. We define our workweeks by the number of hours that we work. We have a to do list and only so much time to get everything done.

Don't get me wrong being conscious of our minutes and seconds is a good thing. We should number our days as the scripture says. Our time on earth is so brief, and we want to be good stewards of every second that we have to glorify God on this earth.

But ironically, this chronos mindset can make us miss what Paul is saying in Ephesians 5. Paul instructs us to redeem the kairos – to pay attention and take advantage of the opportune times and seasons.

Be alert and always aware that God is working behind the scenes during your chronos time to unfold your kairos experiences. When you are expecting them to occur you will notice them when they present themselves.

You will know you are in a kairos moments because your life will change.

So on this journey of singleness, marriage and intimacy with God live in the kairos as you work in the chronos. Until tomorrow Let God blow your mind in the kairos!

With Beautiful Love
