Day 96: WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO GIVE UP?

January 14, 2020

The Journey of Preparation to Singleness, Marriage & Intimacy With God

Day 96: WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO GIVE UP?

With this year well underway, some of us have started the new year like Usain Bolt (fastest man alive) running the 50 yard dash. While others have paced themselves slow and steady like the sloth on Zootopia.

Today’s Lesson: No matter your speed in executing what God has instructed you to do in this season, what are you willing to give up to get your promises released to you?

We all have 24 hours in a day. But why does it seem like there isn't enough time? In the journey of preparation into singleness, marriage and intimacy with God to get what's yours, you must let go of what’s not.

For me God said “I will give you all that I promised you, however you need to let go of something that you hold dear and that you run to for comfort”. I knew actually what He was talking about, movies. In particular Mr. Netflix.

Normally on days that I’m on overload and needing to unwind or relax, I would run to the arms of Mr. Netflix and enjoy his company. Starting the new year God asked me to let him and anyone like him go. This included his brother Mr. Amazon Video, and cousin Mr. Movies and anything on the screen for entertainment, for a whole entire year.

I thought it would be hard. But surprisingly I haven't missed him, I mean them at all.  And I have seen the results in many areas of my life. In particular in my intimacy with God, productivity within my businesses and relationships with others.

I can’t tell you what it is you must give up to get your promises. But I’m sure you may have a clue. It’s that one or two things that takes your attention away from what you should be doing. That thing(s) that is a distraction to your greatness. Yes that’s it. Let that go!

It can be a person, place or thing. If it or they are standing in the way of you receiving all that God has for you let it or them go now.

Until tomorrow singing in my Elsa from Frozen’s voice “Let it go, let it go”

With Beautiful Love
