The Journey of Preparation into Singleness, Marriage & Intimacy With God
Day 144: WHY ARE YOU CRYING ALONE? INVITE SOMEONE TO JOIN YOU
Today I didn't feel like doing anything. I woke up in a depressed/angry/pity party kind of mood, and I stayed there half the day.
I was scheduled for my accountability partner session with my sister/friend Lady Gozen, which I contemplated cancelling. I just was not in the mood to be accountable, didn't have the strength to pray or even write this blog.
I could say I don't know why I woke up feeling this way, however that would be a lie. I allowed my mind to wander the night before, thinking about all the perceived negative stuff happening in and around my life. So of course #Iwokeuplikethis pun intended.
Today’s Lesson: A sweet friendship refreshes the soul (Proverbs 27:9)
I’m not one to share my feelings openly with others. I’m the psychotherapist I listen to others share their feelings. And even though I award myself at times the title of being superhuman or merely just Superwoman. However even this Superwoman has seasons of brokeness.
On this journey of preporation into singleness, marriage and intimacy with God you shouldn't go through your brokenness completely alone. Yes God will build intimacy with us individually during these times, however there will be times that the pruning, cutting away and birthing pains will be so great that you will need a person or persons in your life that you can be open and vulnerable with, so that they can pray you through the process.
And that is what I did. I called Lady Gozen, for our scheduled call, however before we discussed our goals I shared with her my then current mood. She immediately shifted the atmosphere and turned our accountability meeting over into a prayer, praise and worship session. I tell you despite us being 5,318 miles apart (Gozen lives in London and I in California) God met us on that call in such a powerful way.
So as you travel this journey called life and are feeling the weight of the world, reach out to a trusted friend and share with them your spiritual growing pains. You will be surprised what God will do as He gathers with the two of you.
Until tomorrow be a good friend and refresh someone's soul! Cry with them, pray with them, encourage them, labor with them, push with them, love with them. #truefrienship
