The Journey of Preparation into Singleness, Marriage & Intimacy With God
Day 149: MY CLIMB UP THE MOUNTAIN
Yesterday I decided to climb up a mountain. Yes you read that correctly. I climbed up a mountain and it was a whole experience of shifting moods.
At the base of the mountain I was excited, motivated and energized. Midway up the mountain I was catching my breath. One fourth way up the mountain I was ready to stop and head back down the mountain, the wind had gotten heavy which made the climb up harder with greater resistance. I kept losing my balance, my eyes were watery and my ears began to hurt. Oh I almost forgot it got really cold. I don't like the cold. However as I was climbing up the ones who went before me and were heading back down were encouraging me. “You got this, you're almost there, keep going” So I did, and boy am I glad I did. Because at the top of the mountain everything looks so beautiful.
Today’s Lesson: Don’t quit your almost there!
When you are traveling the journey of preparation into singleness, marriage and intimacy with God sometimes it may seem like it is getting harder to stay motivated and excited to pursue. Yet you know these relationships are a part of your destiny and purpose don’t quit!
This could also be true for when you are working on a dream, a project or a goal. You start out motivated, excited and energized, yet through time, life happens, which can make you need to catch your breath, breath and keep moving. You may even feel resistance, push though and keep moving toward your goal.
Adopt the I’m not giving up until I get there motto, and you will be so happy when you make it/accomplish it.
Until tomorrow things look so much better from the top! #keepclimbing
