The Journey of Preparation into Singleness, Marriage & Intimacy With God
Day 167: THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG LOVE STORY
The Princess and The Frog is a modern day retelling of the classic story The Frog Prince. The Princess and the Frog finds the lives of arrogant, carefree Prince Naveen and hardworking waitress Tiana crossing paths. Prince Naveen is transformed into a frog by a conniving voodoo magician and Tiana, turns into a frog also, after kissing the amphibian royalty, Naveen. Then the movie has the two frogs embarking on an adventure meeting new friends and experiencing love, danger and magical transformations.
Today’s Lesson: Are you willing to love them even if your love story doesn't look like the love adventure you intended.
Many have a picture of the love story that they want since infancy. Okay yes I’m exaggerating, slightly. But at some time as we grow up there is a hope of how our love story will turn out.
For the ladies, a prince, gentleman, handsome, successful or on the way to it, humorous, and protective.
For the fellas, a goddess who is not only beautiful from head to toe, but has a balanced mixture of allure, sensuality, femininity, intelligence, cook, counselor, girl next door buddy.
Now of course I am generalizing, however I just needed a platform to make a point. Which is, that on this journey of singleness, marriage and intimacy with God your picture of your love story may appear dramatically different than you expected.
Ways to not abandon what could end up your forever love story
Lay the relationship in prayer to God daily. Two things will happen either your heart will be prepared for the relationship that is best for you, or it will dissolve naturally.
Take your time. Don't rush into or out of the relationship
Involve an accountability partner into the relationship. This could be a counselor, a friend, mentor or religious leader. This person would be able to address blind spots.
Trust your heart. Don't ignore nuances, or be driven by fear. Let your heart speak to your mind. Sometimes we can think ourselves out of a good thing just because it doesn't look the way we dreamed it to be.
I think about Rebecca, who had a servant of Abraham come to her home from a faraway land, and say my servant sent me for a wife for his son, Isaac. Can you believe that was the vision she had for her love story? Yet she went on this unexpected adventure and still 2000 years later billions have read of her love story
So until tomorrow #expcecttheunexpected
