The Journey of Preparation into Singleness, Marriage & Intimacy With God

Continuing the discussion on the “BFF Qualifiers” from the I HAVE THE BEST BFF (BEST FRIEND FOREVER) IN THE WORLD (Day 201)

Today’s Lesson: Do You Accept You For Who You Are Now

I grew up in a predominantly Caucasian community. My brothers, myself and one other kid were they only African american’s in or elementary school. This made me a target for name calling and teasing due to the color of my skin, my jacked up over crowded teeth in my little bitty mouth, and the size of my nose. On the other side of the coin I was extremely skinny, talked proper English and dressed nicely as a little girl, which caused me to be a target for name calling among my kinfolk.

It wasn't until I got well into my adulthood, when I realized the effects this upbringing had on me.

I was never satisfied with me. I tried every weight gaining remedy in the books, didn't smile, even after I had braces, did not understand when people called me beautiful, and even changed the way I dressed into a baggy pants, Poetic Justice crop top vibe to fit in with the in crowd.

I know I'm not alone, stories like mine are why on the journey of preparation into singleness, marriage and intimacy with God we must learn to accept ourselves, even if others don't. Don't take on the views of how others see you, take on the picture of how God sees you. Fearfully and wonderfully made are you. Created and fashioned in the likeness and image of the King of Kings. Embrace it, live with it, Accept it.

How you were created and the situation you may be in right now, was and is no mistake. It is all a part of a greater master plan. All you must do is to accept you and all of your beauty...And yes fella’s you are too. You are Beautiful, Accept it!

Not the weight you want to be, accept it!

Not the height you want to be, accept it!

Not the place you want to be accept it!

Not with the people you want to be with, accept it!

This can go on and on...

But after you accept it, if you want a change then then the needed adjustments, not because someone wants you to but because you want to.

Visualize yourself walking down the aisle on your wedding day. But this is a unique wedding you aren't saying yes to another person you are meeting yourself before God and all who are attending (the world) and you are saying yes to you.

So until tomorrow say yes to all of you #isayyestome

With Beautiful Love
