The Journey of Preparation into Singleness, Marriage & Intimacy With God
Day 218: I DON'T WANT NO SOULMATE
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. - Genesis 2:24
Prior to this journey I read this scripture and took it at its face value. Girl meets boy. Boy likes girl,. Girl likes boy back. Boy proposes to girl. Girl says yes. Boy and girl plan their wedding. Girl say's “I do”, Boy says "I do". Boy and girl put's a lot of honey on the moon….You’ll get that one later lol.
Then during this honey on the moon night of love both the boy and the girl who are now husband and wife consummate their love and cleave together in order to become one.
The question that I now ponder is... what’s cleaving together?
Today’s Lesson: For those who are seeking to get married, don't pray for a soulmate pray for a spirit-mate. The latter guarantees the forever factor in a marriage.
With the situation of the world it has caused peoples truths to bubble up. So many are putting their soulish nature on full display.
You see the soul is equal to what we call the mind. And the mind is where a person’s thoughts, emotions, will and personalities reside. And based on the day or circumstance these attributes of a person can fluctuate. One minute a person may appear sweet and approachable then the next they have turned into Mr or Ms. Hyde, mean with a large dose of insanity.
On the journey of preparation into singleness, marriage and intimacy with God your forever love should be your spirit-mate not your soulmate. To help you make this distinction between the two, instead of finding compatibility with the things of this world, see if you are compatible with the things of the spirit.
- Are they committed to the religion or a donomination or the relationship with God?
- Do they believe God can speak to them directly?
- What is their thoughts regarding speaking in a heavenly language?
- What are their views regarding women preachers?
- How do they feel about dancing in public to secular songs
- Do they agree with practicing yoga or meditation
- What are their beliefs regarding sex, purity and celibacy before and during marriage.
Do their answers match yours, if so then you maybe spirit-mates, if not have a discussion openly regarding what you feel is appropriate in regards to your spiritual development and growth with God.
Remember just because someone may love the same God as you, does not mean they have the same beliefs as you.
So until tomorrow pray for a #spiritmate
With Beautiful Love
