The Journey of Preparation into Singleness, Marriage & Intimacy With God
Day 233: HAPPY FATHER’S DAY EVERYDAY
I am surrounded by men. Wait before you have an image of me like Marilyn Monroe in the movie, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes”, singing “Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend”, that’s not what I;m talking about..lol. But I am surrounded by men.
From my birth, spiritual and god fathers, to my host of brothers either from birth or spiritual, and my dearest male friends, they are all fathers or will be one soon.
Today’s Lesson: Celebrate the fathers in your life everyday because they are an expression of God our Father on earth.
I must be honest, it was hard for me a couple of years ago to believe my birth father was an expression of God the Father on earth. My father as I was growing up had an addiction to drugs, which would have him either in the streets or in jail, but rarely was he at home. But when he was at home, there would accompany him strings of empty promises and traumatic occurrences.
Now he is saved, sanctified and preaching the word of God to the word, however I still needed to go through my inner healing to forgive him of our past history in order to love him for my future blessings.
On this journey of preparation into singleness, marriage and intimacy with God our fathers are the first earthy man that we fall in love with. Alongside the mothers of the world our fathers are co-creators of us and the things on the earth. Even if are father was not there at our birth we still had a love for the role of a father.
God is the father over us all, however He has given us gifts in the form of earthly fathers, either as a birth father, spiritual father, god father, or adopted father they are to be respected, honored and revered, not only on a special day, but every day.
And even though some fathers have make bad choices and decisions that may affect their children, always know that all things work together for the good. Because I had the childhood that I had, it made me who I am today. The decisions I make today are based on the experiences that I faced in my yesterdays.
So if you had an amazing father that has always been there for you, celebrate him everyday. And if you had a father that was in and out of your life, celebrate him every day. Also, if your father was never there for you, celebrate him too. For in celebrating our father's you celebrate God the Father. And that releases the blessings of long life upon you (Exodus 20:12).
So until tomorrow we #honor you fathers, dads, daddies, pops!
With Beautiful Love
