The Journey of Preparation into Singleness, Marriage & Intimacy With God
Day 241: HAVE YOU BEEN REJECTED BY MAN OR EXTRACTED BY GOD
When I was in the military one of the routine procedures we had to do was to go to the dentist. When I went for what I thought was going to be a routine appointment I was dramatically ensured that it would be not so. Within a few minutes of the dentist looking into my mouth he said we need to pull out your wisdom tooth. First of all I didn't even know my wisdom tooth had grown in. Plus I didn't have any pain or discomfort in my mouth to need it pulled.
The dentist ignored my rebuttal and stated that pulling the tooth was for precautionary purposes. In other words for the foreseeable future pains I would have with the tooth. And just like that I left the appointment with my mouth numb, face swollen and in the place where my once not painful tooth lived was now a empty pain throbbing all the way into my toes.
Today’s Lesson: I have extracted you to protect you.
The process of extraction hurts. The dentist will numb the area around the tooth, then the tooth is loosened with an instrument called an elevator, then the dentist uses forceps to remove the tooth. Which is when the tooth is pulled from it’s socket (jawbone). The result is blood, pain and emptiness.
I hear the word of the Lord saying to not only myself but to all who will read this blog post. Where you feel like you have been rejected by people that you esteem or once felt close to, and no matter what you do, you help them more, you serve them more, you love them more, you pray for them more, you encourage them more, you feel more and more disconnected.
God is saying, they have not rejected you. I have extracted you.
I have pulled you out from among them to protect you for where and what I have created you to do. No one will get the glory in what I am doing in and through you says the Lord, so I must remove you and preserve what I have placed in you so that it will not die but live to declare my word into the earth. Yes it hurts, yet’s you feel blood dripping pain, but I promise you this too shall pass.
So beloved take this time of extraction to be tucked away in the gauze of the Lord for your healing as you surrender to the process of your making.
While on this journey into singleness, marriage and intimacy with God you will have seasons of extractions when God removes you from what can hurt you in the future. Even when you don't see it right now, He will protect you even if it's painful in the right now. In the process know that all things will work together for your good.
So until tomorrow #extract me Lord.
